Our Patreon Free ADV Weekend was exactly what we hoped it would be: a relaxed weekend of camping, exploring and spending time with the people who help support Northology all year long.
There were just shy of two dozen all together, and we hit the trails for some northern Wisconsin exploring, stopped at the Mountain Fire Tower and the Wolf River Roots Arts and Crafts Fair, played games around camp, handed out prizes and left plenty of time for everyone to simply hang out and enjoy the weekend. Saturday’s potluck brought everyone together, with Northology providing pulled pork sammiches and our campers filling out the table with plenty of good food to share.
More than anything, the weekend was about community. There was no packed schedule or big production—just trails, campfires, food, laughs and a chance to spend time together outdoors. We promised not to post pics of the Bite the Bag competition (IYKYK) but are happy to announce that Jill and Chris Carr won the P.O.T.Y Award (Patron of the Year) for 2026 and walked away with a beautifully decorated P.O.T.Y award plunger. What a crappy prize!
The Free ADV Weekend is one of the ways we can give something back to our Patreon members who continue to support the magazine, our events and everything else we do throughout the year. Thanks to everyone who came out, brought a dish, joined a trail ride, played along and made the weekend what it was.
We’re already looking forward to the next adventure.
