If you have been to one of our events, you have probably met Cindy’s dad, Buzz. We joke around that this little business venture is all his fault, and his influence is a huge part of what we do today. Buzz has an impressive outdoor adventure resume, having spent years whitewater canoeing, mountain biking, camping, fishing, water skiing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and can liven up a campfire gathering with endless stories and dad jokes. “I love the idea of sharing my dad with everyone,” says Cindy, “he loves making new friends and enjoying the outdoors with us.” Buzz will be joining us for our traditional Father’s Day camping and whitewater rafting weekend at True North Outpost and we will cherish every moment, even the corny jokes and his socks-and-sandals dad attire. Love you, Buzz!

So, what do you get the guy who has everything?

Here are a few suggestions for Father’s Day gifting… I hope Buzz isn’t reading this because we will probably be getting some of these for him and the surprise will be lost!

Gimme Shelter Gazelle Tents G5 5-Sided Portable Gazebo

This thing sets up in 90 seconds, offering immediate protection from bugs! The link above is from Amazon but we also found it on REI’s website. Perfect size for 1-3 people and totally manageable by one person. We got one for camping but also set it up in Buzz’s front acre last weekend for sun and bug protection while filling the woodshed.

Flair Dad Can Wear- Northern Lights tshirt

A truck, the northwoods and the northern lights- what could be better? A discount you say? Consider it done. Spend $50 or more, get $10 off with code 104DAD thru 6/17. Get dad a patch beanie for those cool northern nights, too. Oh, and a Northology bottle opener (for good beers, only.)

Stay Connected on the Trail- MidlandUSA radios for camping

Whether you get dad a cool set of license-free handhelds, a GMSR unit to install in his truck or a weather radio, staying connected on the trail or at camp has never been easier. I do think the FCC frowns on telling dad jokes over radio transmissions, save that for around the campfire, dad.
