It utilizes historic county roads around the Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Forest. It contains terrain surfaces varying between gravel, trail, and asphalt.” Folks will gather each morning to group up for crowd-sourced trail rides. For guided rides in Hollerwood, contact Sam Justice.

Scenic self-guided tours

The Red River Gorge scenic byway is located in the Red River Gorge on the Cumberland District of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Attractions on the byway include the Gladie Visitor Center, Nada Tunnel, and views of stone arches or unique rock formations. Portions of the byway also parallel the Red River, a designated wild and scenic river.

About the Event

Thanks @OverlandPioneers for capturing the highlights and special moments from the inaugural Overland the Red event in the Red River Gorge, KY. This overland and off-road basecamp was a huge success thanks to our attendees, sponsors and the amazing staff at Callie’s Lake and Campground. We gave away over $10k in prizes, including a TC Teardrops Oasis Overland camper trailer in a raffle that raised over $3,300 for the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway.

What kind of event is this?

This is an overland and off-road basecamp gathering. Your ticket gets you camping for the weekend and entry to our giveaways and the raffle to benefit the DBBB. There will be a select group of vendors at camp showing their vehicle-assisted adventure gear and products and there are tons of activities in the Red River Gorge area that the whole family can enjoy.  We will gather each evening to give away some prizes, get to know each other and tell our stories
