About the Event

Thanks @OverlandPioneers for capturing the highlights and special moments from the inaugural Overland the Red event in the Red River Gorge, KY. This overland and off-road basecamp was a huge success thanks to our attendees, sponsors and the amazing staff at Callie’s Lake and Campground. We gave away over $10k in prizes, including a TC Teardrops Oasis Overland camper trailer in a raffle that raised over $3,300 for the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway.

What kind of event is this?

This is an overland and off-road basecamp gathering. Your ticket gets you camping for the weekend and entry to our giveaways and the raffle to benefit the DBBB. There will be a select group of vendors at camp showing their vehicle-assisted adventure gear and products and there are tons of activities in the Red River Gorge area that the whole family can enjoy.  We will gather each evening to give away some prizes, get to know each other and tell our stories

What trails are in the area at Overland the Red?

There are miles of scenic paved and gravel roads,  Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway (DBBB), Kentucky Adventure Trail, and  Hollerwood Offroad Park.

Do I need a permit?

No, but if doing the DBBB, you should download the official map from Cartotracks to use on Avenza. See the DBBB website for info.

Can I get a guided tour at Hollerwood Offroad Park?

Yes! Sam Justice will be guiding mild and wild trail rides- please get your ticket on our ticket site to ensure that there is space for you!

Will there be guided trail rides of the DBBB?

We are not trail guides but there will be locals and club members willing to take people out- just come to the morning meetup to find a group you are comfortable with. Cara with Ozark Overland Adventures will be leading a ladies ride on Saturday.

What other activities are in the area?

We secured discounts for climbing with Southeast Mountain Guides and private group hikes to sandstone arches (see email newsletter for discounts and codes.) You can also enjoy ziplining, underground kayaking, fall color chair lift tours, horseback riding, atv tours, or go out on your own.

What kind of facility is Callie's Campground?

Rustic camping! There are flush toilets and showers near the camp store/cafe. There is a children’s play area and camp is just minutes from the town of  Stanton and the Red River Gorge.

What does my ticket get me?

Your Overland the Red ticket gets you camping at Callie’s for the weekend (th-sun,) OTR tshirt, sticker and swag bag, access to the vendor village, entry in our evening giveaways and DBBB benefit raffle and all basecamp activities including the community group rides and the Narrow Road Adventures family hike.
